5 of our Favorite Raglan Sweater Patterns

Next week is our Sweater Knitting Weekend: Raglan Edition event, and I thought I’d highlight some great examples of raglan design.

Raglans are a great option if you’ve never knit a sweater before because of the simple shaping.

And even those some of these sweater look complex, they are all based on the same basic shape.

Frost Pullover by Heidi May

Why we love it: This modern take on the raglan features a wide boat neck collar and baggy sleeves. Plus it uses marling to create that beautiful fuzzy halo throughout.

Norwegian Firt Top Cardigan by OGE Designs

Why we love it: Garter stitch is paired with lace raglan seams. What’s not to love? (We’ll show you how to do this on Day 2 of the event)

Emberlight Pullover by Takako Takiguchi

Why we love it: Lace details accent the sleeves and hem of this top, making it perfect for warmer weather.

Horse Head Cardigan by Mary Maxim

Why we love it: Gosling’s fox sweater can’t have all the fun. The Project Hail Mary sweater has a similar raglan style version too!

Jean Sweater by Kolibri by Johanna

Why we love it: Feather and fan has never been used so effectively as with this bright and happy sweater. It also has a junior version!
