If you know anything about me you know that I LOVE movies.
Like, I go to the movies almost every week and one of my favorite events here in Tallinn is the Black Nights Film Festival.
So with the fall movie season kicking off, I thought I’d highlight some books that celebrate Hollywood.
This could also be called the Tanis does Hollywood list, as Tanis Gray has become the go to person for IP related pattern books.
Let’s see if you favorite characters are represented!

Outlander Knitting edited by Kate Atherley
The one book on this list Tanis didn’t write.
20 patterns, including the capelet cowl Mrs. Fitz gives Claire and a waistcoat for your own Jamie.

The Fellowship of the Knits by Tanis Gray
Cozy knits for the Shire, rugged outerwear for the Prancing Pony, and lace fit for Rivendell.
There’s something for everyone, whatever corner of Middle-earth you come from.

The Nightmare Before Christmas: Official Knitting Guide by Tanis Gray
The only book here that uses glow-in-the-dark yarn.
Knit your own Zero or Oogie Boogie in time for the stretch between Halloween and Christmas.

Star Wars: Knitting the Galaxy by Tanis Gray
28 patterns. Start with the Ewok Hood (in kid and adult sizes).
Work your way up to the Darth Vader Pullover or maybe your own baby Yoda for the Mandalorian fan in your life.

Gilmore Girls: The Official Knitting Book by Tanis Gray
25+ patterns straight out of Stars Hollow, from Lorelai’s scarf to Richard’s Friday Night Dinner bowtie.
There’s even a drumstick bag for Lane.

Conclusion
So there you have it!
While this isn’t an exhaustive list, it covers a lot of the biggest movies and tv shows in history.
But what do you think?
Have you knit from any of these books?
What movie do you wish there was a book of knitting patterns for?
